Oral Presentations

If your abstract is accepted as an oral presentation, you will present a short talk.

All submitted abstracts are reviewed by a panel including IPS Board Members, IPS SPC Members, IPS R&D Group Members and IPS Education Group Members. All abstracts are blind reviewed and the top scoring abstracts are put forward for an oral presentation. These abstracts are then reviewed by the IPS Scientific Committee and 12 abstracts are selected to be present at conference. Those selected to present an oral presentation will present as part of the conference programme. To view when oral paper sessions are taking place during conference, please view the programme.

What happens is the abstract is selected as an oral presentation?

If the abstract is selected as an oral presentation you will be contacted with a date and time of the presentation. Presentation are 13 minutes long with 2 minutes for questions. Only one of the named authors may present and they must register as a paying delegate on the day they are presenting (at a minimum). You will be asked for a copy of your presentation in advance of conference.

On the day of your presentation report to the speaker registration desk, located at the main registration area. You will be directed to the speaker preview room where you can view your presentation and make any amendments if required.

Best Oral Presentation Award

The 12 oral presentations will be adjudicated at conference and the winner will be announced during the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 28th September. The winner will receive a certificate and a free place at next year’s conference.

If you have a study that will be complete between 11th June and 1st September 2021, please email ipsconf@fitwise.co.uk (only if study results/evidence are available). We may look to consider your work for a Late Breaker session on the conference programme. We can only accept complete studies for consideration.
